Other Missions + Ministries

In addition to AFLC missions and ministries, our congregation also supports a wide variety of local, national and international ministries:

  1. to bring the good news of the gospel to those in prison, on high school and college campuses, to the Jews, and to other nations in their own language
  2. to help those with addictions
  3. to support women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy; to stand for the value of every life
  4. to meet the needs of the poor, homeless, and hungry
  5. to encourage those persecuted for their Christian faith




Paul & Jay work with Radio Television Caranavi (RTC) in Caranavi, Bolivia. The mission emphasis of RTC is to transmit the Truth and reach the lost for Christ; to instruct and to teach those who want to know God and to live the Christian life; and to encourage and to edify those who believe in Jesus Christ. The ministries that RTC is involved with are programs in Aymara and other indigenous languages; a children’s ministry called “ABC Kids”; Christian radio and television broadcasts; social helps in times of disasters and specific needs; and reaching out to thousands of people throughout Bolivia with the Word of God.




“Josiah Venture has grown from three couples in 1993 to over 320 staff members located in 15 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, along with support teams in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Thousands of young leaders are trained each year and through those young leaders hundreds of new believers are entering the local church as a result of evangelistic and discipleship efforts.”




“City Mission exists to share Christ, to shelter, to heal, and to restore the homeless to independent living—without discrimination. They are a Christ-centered rehabilitative homeless shelter, providing food, shelter, case management, biblically based counseling, and life-changing programming.”




“Light of Life is committed to building disciples for the Kingdom of God among the poor, addicted and needy. They provide a safe place for homeless men, women and children to rebuild their lives and restore hope for the future.”




This ministry goes inside prisons with professional artists and conducts two week workshops with selected inmates culminating in a performance in front of their peers that includes spoken word, vocal, dance, and theater segments. Together they shine the light of God’s love and forgiveness, expand perspectives, and impact lives.




A Pittsburgh based foundation begun in 2011.They care for impoverished children in Kenya’s Mathare slum by partnering with AIC Zion School which currently has 680 students in grades K-10. They provide a quality Christian education, medical care and two meals a day.




“Lutherans For Life (LFL) is so much more than an organization that produces facts and figures and keeps people informed on the latest life related news and political maneuverings. LFL is about speaking the truth of life. LFL applies the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the life issues, making Jesus known as the Son of God and Savior of all who can help and make a difference in people’s lives.” They are a source for material on abortion, adoption, bioethics, creation, end-of-life, post-abortion healing, fetal development & sexual purity.




“Chosen People Ministries exists to pray for, evangelize, disciple, and serve Jewish people everywhere and to help fellow believers do the same. Founded in 1894,they now serve in eighteen countries across the globe. Their outreach programs include evangelism and discipleship, Messianic Centers and congregations, equipping the local church for Jewish evangelism, and digital evangelism.”
