He also pastored three congregations in Minnesota for nine years prior to being called to pastor at Ruthfred Lutheran.
Pastor Carlson received a Graduate in Theology degree from the Association Free Lutheran Theological Seminary (Minneapolis, MN), a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education from the University of Wisconsin – Superior, as well as a diploma of Biblical Studies from the Association Free Lutheran Bible School. Ruthfred called Pastor Bryce McMinn as Associate Pastor in 2020. He and his wife, Erin, have been married for 16 years, and have 5 children: Noah (13), Elliot (11), Caleb (9), Lillian (7), and Joshua (5). Bryce grew up in Lancaster, PA, and Erin in Bethel Park.
Bryce and Erin met at the University of Pittsburgh, both graduating in 2001 with bachelors degrees in business administration. - Regan JohnsonYouth Director
Hi, my name is Regan Johnson and I’m serving as the Youth Director here at Ruthfred Lutheran Church. I am originally from Fosston, Minnesota which is a very small town up north. I have an older brother and younger sister, and am very close to my family. I grew up in my local AFLC church of Calvary Free Lutheran, where I was an active member in my church and youth group growing up. I was a two sport athlete, involved with basketball and track.
I attended the Association Free Lutheran Bible School after graduating high school from 2015-2017. Throughout my time there, I participated in activities such as the Basketball team, Choir, Cross Cultural Ministries, Street Ministries, and Summer Team VBS ministries. Attending there was such a blessing in growing and nurturing my faith.
Since graduating, I served as a youth leader for a year long internship in Metropolis, Illinois before moving back to Fargo to continue my education. I am currently attending Minnesota State University Moorhead and pursuing a degree in Business Marketing, which will be completed and fulfilled this December. During my time in Fargo, I served as 5-7 year old childcare provider, and really grew to love working with kids. God has now currently called me to work with the youth here, and I’m very excited to be here with this opportunity to serve and grow.
With my free time and personal life, I enjoy activities such as traveling, camping, and hiking. I also enjoy just being with people and exploring my surroundings and finding good places to eat. I’m also a big fan of movies, music, puzzles, and games of all kinds.
