Dear Congregational Family,

1. Epiphany Season: On January 6th we entered the Epiphany Season. Although Epiphany is barely observed by most churches, it is interesting that the early church celebrated Epiphany around the same timeframe that it started celebrating Christmas. Epiphany is the making “manifest” or “revealing” of Christ to the non-Jewish world. The early church was very “evangelistic” in wanting the world to know that the Gospel was for all people! Christ came to redeem and restore His created world. Epiphany is to be a season of opened eyes and hearts unto the salvation of the Lord.
“There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!’” ~ Abraham Kuyper (1837-1920), Prime Minister of the Netherlands 1901-1905

Epiphany poem:

“Unclench your fists
Hold out your hands.
Take mine.
Let us hold each other.
Thus is his Glory
Manifest.”

~ Madeleine L’Engle
