Dear Congregational Family,

1. World Wide Communion Sunday: This Sunday, Christians will be gathering together around the world and celebrating Holy Communion together, recognizing that we are brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ. The idea of having a particular Sunday of the year in which every Christian around the would come to church and participate in Holy Communion, originated in Pittsburgh in 1933! It has vastly grown since then and is embraced across denominational lines throughout the world today.

This Sunday, Holy Communion will be offered at our 8:30am, 11:00am, and 6:00pm services. Come to the Table of the Lord. Come unite together in Christ!

Perhaps there is someone you could encourage to come with you as well!

Note the emphasis on our unity and oneness in Christ in this passage:

Ephesians 4:1-6 – “Therefore I [Apostle Paul], the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.”

2. Adult Sunday School: (Three great choices!)

a. This week, in the Large Classroom, we will continue looking at contemporary issues in our society. How should the church respond? This week we will be watching an excellent presentation regarding gender identity which was given to our youth at the FLY Convention this summer, by Pastor Wade Mobley.

b. Also this week, a new series continues on Apologetics, with “Answers Academy” which will help you in sharing and defending your faith. It will meet in the Fireplace Lounge.

c. In addition, another new series on “Parenting” will begin this week! It will be in the Upper Room.

3. Picture Directory: If you had your picture taken (or submitted one), you will automatically receive this new beautiful hardbound edition of our directory. If you did not, you may order one by contacting Pat Lutz at the church office today or tomorrow.

4. Sermon text for this Sunday is Luke 17:1-10. The title is: “Faults, Forgiveness, Faith, and Faithfulness.”

God bless you as we continue,

“Growing Together in our Faith as the Family of God”
