Dear Congregational Family,

1. Council: Last night at our Church Council meeting, I began my report with this paragraph:

The fall season has been very full to say the least! It has been filled with both blessings and challenges! I am so thankful for all of you and for the servant leadership which you exemplify and through which you bless our congregation. May God bless you for this!! Even though so many things have “returned to normal” around us, it is undeniable that even those things really are not (nor will they ever be again) exactly the same. Not only do we live in a day of a “new normal,” but also I believe that there is both residual and renewed national stress from the last 20 months with COVID-19 as well as the ongoing political rancor, economic chaos, and increasing spiritual apostasy in our nation. Yet, in spite of all of this, God is powerfully at work in the lives of those who love and follow Him! I am so thankful for the good work that God is pleased to do within our congregation!

I am also thankful for the men and women of Council and for all that they do! Please pray for them and thank them for serving our congregation!!

2. Millions of Muslims watching Christian satellite!?: SAT-7 reported at the end of the summer that they had 25 million viewers. The amazing part of this statistic is that SAT-7 is an extensive network broadcasting full-time in North Africa, the Middle East, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, and other parts of Central Asia. It is the most watched network in the entire region, and most of their viewers are Muslim. Ironically, due to the fear of COVID-19, many people have stayed home, and that has given them extra privacy to watch the Christian network. Even in Afghanistan, as people hide in fear of the Taliban, they are secretly watching these Christian broadcasts. SAT-7 reports that thousands are coming to faith. Iran especially is experiencing surging growth in the underground church. Praise the Lord!

3. Family Fall Festival: On Saturday, Oct. 16th, we will be holding our annual Family Fall Festival at the Cox Farm from 1:00pm-7:00pm! There will be games, fabulous food, hayrides, pumpkins, and much more! Our worship team will also be there to lead a time of praise to the Lord. This is an excellent opportunity to invite your friends! Come and enjoy a wonderful time together!!

4. SWAP Retreat: Praise God for the awesome retreat that our 6-8th graders had last weekend! We are so grateful to the Lord for bringing Regan to us as our Youth Director and for our incredible Youth Committee! Pray for God’s continued work in the lives of the students who were at the retreat.

5. Radke: A number of you have asked for Kurt Radke’s address, as his mother Pat passed away last week. It is: 842 1st. St., Apt.3; Verona, PA. 15147.
